A firmware upgrade for Hitachi’s SK-UHD4000 4K camera can enable simultaneous output in both HDR and SDR, with separate adjustments for each. Generating live simultaneous signals at acquisition is critical for an HDR transition when live SDR signals are still required to support legacy infrastructure, screens or channels. This camera suits houses of worship whose leaders want to put an HDR 4K image on their big stage screens, yet would like to avoid the expense of upgrading their entire production and distribution workflow. These cameras can simultaneously generate HDR for stage screens and generate a separate SDR signal for live streaming, storage or post production.
