Music Tribe announced the acquisition of UK-based microphone company Aston Microphones. Aston joins Music Tribe’s current lineup of pro-audio brands, including Midas, Klark Teknik, Lab Gruppen, Lake, Tannoy and Turbosound.
“The addition of Aston Microphones now allows Music Tribe to round out our professional install and touring sound offerings alongside Midas, Klark Teknik, Lab Gruppen, Lake, Turbosound, Tannoy and many other leading brands under the Music Tribe umbrella,” Music Tribe Founder and CEO, Uli Behringer, said.
Behringer explained that Music Tribe has been seeking a microphone brand to complement the rest of its portfolio. “Throughout our search, Aston Microphones has clearly stood out as the ideal match,” he said.
“We will invest heavily in positioning Aston Microphones at the very pinnacle of the industry,” Behringer continued. “And the Aston team will now equally have full access to Music Tribe’s extensive resources and advanced automated system platforms in such areas as product engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and finance. We are very proud to welcome the Aston team into our family.”
Aston Microphones CEO James Young expressed similar enthusiasm regarding the acquisition. “The synergy with Music Tribe’s existing brand portfolio is exceptional, and the huge resource in R&D, manufacturing and engineering excellence we now have at our disposal, will allow us, together, to set a bar to which other brands can only aspire,” he stated. “We are honored to now share our journey with Music Tribe and such talented people.”
Aston Microphones’ staff members will continue to operate from the company’s Hertfordshire headquarters. From there, they will work alongside Music Tribe’s already-existing team on product development, as well as customer and artist relationships.
