Today, Chris Brown, EVP, Conventions & Business Operations, NAB, sent a letter to the commercial AV community to announce the cancellation of the in-person NAB Show New York show, scheduled for October 21 and 22. The show, originally set to emanate from the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York NY, will instead transition to a new digital event, building on the success of NAB Show Express earlier this spring. According to Brown, the decision follows extensive surveying of the NAB Show New York community and consultation with state and local officials in New York, as well as convention-center representatives.
The online event will take place this fall, and it’ll include a full slate of conference programs. According to Brown, the goal is for the digital experience to provide a valuable forum for the industry to restart, refocus and reengage.
“We are developing a robust platform for exhibitors to share product information, provide demonstrations and make announcements,” Brown wrote. “Additionally, the online event will provide premium educational content and unique opportunities for the community to network virtually. We will share additional details on the digital event in the coming weeks and months.”
